DOES YOUR PET HAVE FIREWORK OR OTHER ANXIETIES?

Try these simple, great, safe natural remedies!

Hi all my pet-parents!  Well I apologize, I meant to have this newsletter out by Thursday for all of you per my usual writing day... but my body decided otherwise when I was struck with an awful flare of illness last week!  Better late than never is the saying though right?  And this is GOOD info which can be used ALL YEAR long, not just on the 4th of July so I just HAD to still share with all of you!

Fireworks are a common source of high stress and anxiety in many of our pets.  Unfortunately every year anxieties cause pets to injure themselves, get loose from their homes & yards, and for various reasons has even led to causing death.   It is very important that we do all that we can to help our pets combat these anxieties on these days of celebration.

Begin with environmental changes you can make for your pets; keep all doors and windows closed, close all blinds and curtains, put your pet away from the hustle of activity if you have visitors, put your pet in the most quiet room or area in the house, and put on a movie or music at a moderate to loud audio level to help drown out the offending booms.

Also help your pet be staying close to them and spending time with them throughout the events as they will be looking to you for safety and reassurance during this fearful time for them.  This is not the time to cuddle and coddle your pet, and speak "baby-voices" however, you should do your best to keep your pet engaged and as confident as possible with playful activities they love, perhaps save a special new toy particularly for this day, or give a special toy the don't always have access to.  Also, this is a great time to work on simple behavior or agility training techniques to help keep them distracted.  This is for distraction only, don't expect them to be performing at a top level of course!

Some simple, safe natural remedies you can use to help your pet weather any stressful situations are:

ThunderShirt - this is a specially designed weighted shirt for dogs and cats which helps to bring a calming effect through the physiologic response to a the weighted shirt "hugging" their bodies.
Pet CBD - CBD is the non-intoxicating compound found in the cannabis plant.  CBD provides a laundry list of health benefits to pets with non-sedating anxiety relief being one of the TOP benefits.  CBD is legal in all US states, however with little current regulations, sourcing should be well scrutinized.  Simply message if you would like a product referral for your pet.  This products is BEST when used daily.
Pet Rescue Remedy:  Rescue Remedy is a blend of flower essences specifically combined to provide fast non-sedating fast anxiety relief.  Rescue Remedy is best to be used only for higher stress events for your pets given 15 minutes prior to the stressful event because it works quickly, but also effects fade rather quickly.  Can be given multiple times in one day as needed.  Can be purchased on ReNewedPet.com
Herbal Anxiety Remedies:  There are a wide variety of natural herbal plants which provide relief from anxiety and are very safe for dogs and cats.  Personally, I use and recommend the Hawaii Pharm products because they are all alcohol-free, batch-tested, produced in an FDA approved facility and have masterfully chosen combination formulas which work very effectively.  These are also BEST to be used daily for anxious pets.  Can be purchased on ReNewedPet.com

Remember that all of these remedies can and SHOULD be used for a number of other stressful events in your pet's lives; moving, new people visiting, new pets coming home, long car-rides, vet trips, large family gatherings, as well as their pet-parents leaving town.
