Mojo's blood test showed high BUN and CRE levels along with SDMA of 18 (stage 2 kidney disease). We changed his diet to support kidney function and added Ubiquinol 20mg in the morning and 20mg in the late evening. He's been on Ubiquinol for 1 month now and just had another blood test done showing normal BUN and CRE levels, although his SDMA has increased to 20 which is still within stage 2 of his kidney disease. Mojo appears to be feeling less sick than he was a month ago and his appetite returned to normal with 4 small feedings of soft food per day. We will continue with his Ubiquinol supplement as we have seen a marked improvement in his blood levels with hopes to delay the progression of his kidney disease and give him a better quality of life for as long as possible.

About 3 years ago my then 9 year old dog was diagnosed with a mitral valve heart murmur. I started getting his blood tested for the BNP test, which is an indicator of overall heart health. A score of under 900 is considered to be normal for dogs. The first year, his score was 450. Just before his second year test, I started my dog on daily doses of ubiquinol. His score on the second year test was 848. A year later, after a full year on ubiquinol, his score had dropped to 600. Of course I can't be certain, but I am inclined to attribute this dramatic improvement to the daily doses of ubiquinol as that was the only significant change I made to my dog's health, nutrition and exercise routine during the past year. My dog is now 12 years old and has had no increase in the severity of his heart murmur and is on no prescribed medications. I think this has been a huge success for my dog.

On the advice of April Arguin, I started giving my boys a daily dose of Ubiquinal when diagnosed with HCM. This was back in June and to see them, you wouldn’t know there was anything wrong. At their last check-up their condition hadn’t worsened and they still didn’t require any prescription medication.

One of the few companies I could find that would ship to Canada. This is a great product for dogs with CKD but hard to find up here in a formation that works for dogs and in the proper dosages. My order came with an additional measuring syringe which makes it easier to dole out the exact amount necessary.
