Why You NEED a Grooming Sling for Your Sphynx Cat!

If you share your life with a Sphynx cat, you already know that these adorable, high-maintenance babies require regular grooming to keep their skin healthy. But what if there was a tool that could make the whole process easier and even less stressful for both of you?

Let’s talk about grooming slings!

I've been using a grooming sling for several years now with my own cats, and I highly, highly recommend it. Whether you’re tackling bath time, nail trimming, ear cleaning, or paw care, a well-made grooming sling can make a world of difference.

Why Use a Grooming Sling?

A grooming sling is incredibly helpful, especially if you don’t always have a second pair of hands around to help you. Even if you do have someone to assist, the sling provides gentle restraint that keeps your cat comfortably in place, reducing the wiggles and sudden squirming that can make grooming tricky (and stressful).

Once your cat gets used to the feeling of the sling, they typically calm down and relax, knowing they’re safe and secure. It helps them (and you!) have a more positive grooming experience from start to finish.

Not All Slings Are Created Equal

It’s very important to choose a high-quality, well-designed sling. Some cheaper options on the market aren’t built with safety or functionality in mind and they can end up doing more harm than good.

A poorly designed sling could allow your cat to slip out (defeating the purpose) or, worse, cause discomfort or injury if not properly fitted.

At RenewedPet, we import our grooming slings from a trusted artisan in Australia who handmakes each one with precision and care. The slings are thoughtfully designed to support your cat’s body comfortably, using strong Velcro straps and secure hooks that keep everything properly aligned and safe.

How It Works

The grooming sling features a soft Velcro strap across the belly, with openings for your cat’s head, front legs, and back legs.

You simply:

  • Open the hooks and Velcro closure.

  • Gently place your cat’s legs through the openings.

  • Wrap the Velcro underneath and reattach the hooks.

  • Hang the sling securely using a grooming table eyelet, a tension shower rod across a doorway, or even a sturdy closet shelf with S-hooks.

Once your Sphynx is suspended safely in the sling, you’ll have both hands free to complete your grooming tasks easily and efficiently.

We all know Sphynx cats require more frequent grooming than their furry counterparts. Regular bathing, ear cleaning, nail trims, and paw care are essential for their health and comfort. A grooming sling can seriously cut down on the time and effort it takes and it makes the whole experience safer and less stressful for your precious kitty.

If you haven’t tried a grooming sling yet, trust me, you are missing out!

It’s a small investment that makes a huge difference.

Keep giving your pets the best of natural life!
