4 Tips to Help Your Cat Sleep Through the Night

Are you tired of prowling paws, midnight zoomies, and face kneading disturbing your slumber? Does your kitty think a 3 am serenade is precisely what you need? Your precious kitty's nocturnal nature and mischievous spirit can transform cozy nights into wild safari adventures, leaving you feeling drained and exhausted.

But don’t worry, I’m here to help you turn yowls and crashes into purrs of contentment - here are some tips you can try if your cat refuses to let you sleep through the night.

Tip 1 - Energy Expenditure

Play with your cat vigorously before bed. You’ll want to give them at least 15 - 20 minutes of focused and dedicated personal time to help them get all their energy out.

If your cat is not very playful, be sure to take them into a separate room, alone and free of the distractions of other pets and small children, and try a long wand toy. Cats really enjoy these toys and almost always will engage in play.

Charlie and Stubbin love these wand toys.

Tip 2 - Full Belly

Feed your cat a large meal right before bedtime. If you want to go to bed around 10:30, aim to feed your cat their meal around 10. A full belly will help them to settle and stay asleep for longer.

Here are my recommendations for the best food for your cat.

Tip 3 - Personal Space

It is helpful to give your kitty their own dedicated bed in your bed. Often if they know you are close by, they will stay snuggled up in there and you can get a peaceful night's sleep.

Tip 4 - Soft Carrier

You can also try to put them into a soft carrier at night and zip them in. They might fuss a bit at first but if you persevere they usually like being in a soft and comfy enclosed area and will sleep through the night.

Stubbin really loves this carrier with extendable walls for extra space.

So rest easy fellow cat parents - tonight, sleep shall reign supreme!

Keep giving your pets the best of natural life!
