The Truth About Essential Oils
Essential oils are not necessarily toxic to cats and dogs. In fact, there’s an entire line of pet medicine that uses essential oils for various health conditions.
The general rule of thumb is if you want to use essential oils in your home, such as in a diffuser, make sure you’re using them in a large, well-ventilated room. Also make sure that your cat or dog is able to leave that space if they choose to. This is important because some of the smells from essential oils are very overpowering and overwhelming to them.
Additionally, be sure you’re using only pure therapeutic-grade essential oil. Synthetic essential oil is very dangerous for our pets and can be toxic or even deadly. So, just make sure you’re using one of the well-known brands such as:
