How To Calm Your Female Cat in Heat

If you've ever found yourself in the presence of a fiery female cat in heat, you know firsthand that peace and quiet can feel as elusive as a laser dot on the wall!

But fear not, we've got the purr-fect trick to help you navigate the tempestuous tides of your feline friend's hormonal hurricane. Get ready to discover the ultimate secret to calming your kitty, keeping your sanity intact, and maintaining harmony in your household.

It's time to unleash your inner cat whisperer and conquer the heatwave with finesse - so without further ado, let’s turn up the chill and tame the heat, one whisker at a time!

Book a Spay Appointment with your Vet

If you don’t already have a great vet, now is the time to start looking. When your she-cat starts displaying signs of being in heat, you should consider booking her in to be spayed.

If you’re unsure, or she seems young, here is a great resource to help you assess the right age to get your kitty spayed.

It is so important to choose a vet with a great reputation or a clinic that specializes in cats to make sure you are getting the most qualified professional to care for your kitty. I highly recommend looking here for a holistic vet in your area.

Acupressure For The Win!

Waiting to get your cat spayed can feel like an eternity especially when you feel powerless to help her deal with her symptoms. Luckily, I have a neat trick to teach you that will have your heat-stricken kitty purring with contentment, and you breathing a sigh of relief.

To help alleviate the symptoms of a heat cycle you need to find the acupressure point near their buttocks. To do this, rub your queen all over her rear end until she puts her butt up. When she does, notice which side she moves her tail to and then place your thumb or finger on the opposite side and find the space between her hip bone and tailbone.

Gently press down here for 30 to 60 seconds. Now a quick warning - all cats have a different tolerance for this so be ready to move your hand quickly as she may turn and bite you when she has reached her limit.

Enjoy the Eye of the Storm!

When you release the pressure, you should immediately see her calm down and start rolling around on the floor and rubbing herself on everything.

This will provide relief for 3-4 hours before the cycle starts again, but it is an extremely effective way to help her and you through this difficult period.

Keep giving your pets the best of natural life!
