HOW MUCH MEAT SHOULD YOUR PET BE EATING?

Every species on our planet has a natural health-promoting ratio of nutrients they should be consuming for best health.  For our pets, this ration or how much meat consumption versus plant-based foods is just as critically important and sadly many commercial-made pet foods just get it wrong.

Most commercial pet foods are lacking in the ideal amount of meat protein for our pets, because meats are the most expensive ingredient so they often use a lot of low-cost plant-based fillers like corn, rice, potato's, beans etc.

The ideal diet for our pets is the proper ratio of fresh muscle meats, organ meats, bone, and vegetables and a small amount of fruit.

Our dogs are at their best health eating a ratio of 75-80% muscle meat, organ meats and bone, to 25-20% vegetables and small amounts of fruit.

Our cats on the other hand, being obligate carnivores are at their best health eating a ratio 95-97% muscle meat, organ meats and bone, to only 3-5% vegetables and small amounts of fruit.

Check out our website for a list of top recommended fresh pet food companies who get these ratios right to give your pets their best chance at long healthy lives!

Keep those pets healthy and happy everyone!
