If Your Cat is NOT Using the Litter Box - Do THIS! Part 3...
We are already on part 3 of our litter box series. We have looked at the number and type of litter boxes you need for your kitties and today we are going to explore where those litter boxes are in your home.
It is not enough to have the right litter box if it isn’t in the right spot.
Imagine you went to buy a home and the toilet was in the middle of the kitchen - SAY WHAAAAAT? Well I’m assuming you would run fast from that house because “EW”, right?
Well your kitty is much the same - you need to think carefully about where you place the litter boxes in your house to make sure your cat wants to use them.
Some of the best spots are:
a guest bathroom (provided this is not a high traffic area in your home)
your laundry area (just be aware that your washer and dryer can make a lot of noise and might make your kitty not want to go there)
A guest bedroom may be another great option as long as you don’t have visitors staying over regularly.
This is why it's a great idea to have multiple litter boxes throughout your home - if you’re using the laundry for example, your cat has another option when they need to use the bathroom.
Take some time to choose the quietest places in your home where your cat will have some privacy when needing to use the bathroom - simply having a quiet place to do their business may be all you need to entice them back to the litter box.
