Are Eggs Good for Your Pet?

Yes! Eggs are great for your pets. I recommend them as a healthy snack or addition to a balanced diet, but there are a few things to keep in mind when giving your pet eggs.

How to Serve Eggs

The most nutritious way to cook the egg for your pet is to separate the yolk from the egg white. The yolk can be served raw, but the white should be cooked. Never feed the egg white raw, because too much raw egg white can block other important nutrients from absorbing into in your pet’s body. Alternatively, you can also scramble or hard-boil the eggs.

Part of a Balanced Diet

Eggs are healthy for your pet, but you want to ensure you’re not giving them too many eggs. A good rule of thumb is one egg, three times a week for every ten pounds as part of a balanced, fresh diet.
