Proper Litter Box use can be Life or Death for a Cat!
Hi again to all my amazing pet-parents! I am so passionate about this new series we are in "All About Litter Boxes" because as you will see in this newsletter it is getting REAL, and shedding light on the very serious out-comes of what can happen to a cat when they are not properly using the litter box!
I, like so many of you, am not a fan of the shock-and-awe tactics often found in our media, so I was a bit hesitant to promote this pet-tip in such a harsh reality-check way this week. Ultimately however, I decided that harsh or not, it is a reality for so many cats, and at the risk of my audience favor-ability; I am purely driven and focused on doing what is best for the animals I am here to bring a voice to through my teachings.
Before we go any further into this series, I wanted to really highlight just how critical all of this knowledge and attention to giving your cat the proper litter box set-up for them means for their life. I know you may see this list and think you would never abandon your cat, or re-home them, or surrender them to a shelter, but I people come to me every day at their wits end about to do these VERY things because they have been dealing with their cat peeing or pooping all over their house for the last, months, or longer. Thankfully most of the time these behavior issues are resolvable, however just as anything in life it is MUCH easier to prevent, than correct, and sadly sometimes once it starts it cannot be corrected without re-homing a cat, or even sometimes they never stop even in a new home which almost always leads to the end for them.
So, let’s do this, and learn together all of the multitudes of ways to provide your cat with a great (for them) litter box set-up to give you and your cat the best chance at a long, healthy, happy life together and pass it on to your friends and family members so no cats have to suffer these ill-fates again:
1. Surrendered to shelters
2. Abandoned
3. Left behind when families move.
4. Re-homed
5. Neglected
6. Abused
7. And even euthanized!!!
